Shipping & Delivery
Last updated: 3 September 2026
This page explains how I prepare and pack original artworks, where I ship, estimated delivery times and potential return costs. It forms part of my Terms & Conditions.
Delivery dates are estimates unless I agree a fixed date with you in writing. For a ready-made artwork, I will deliver within 30 days after accepting your order unless we agree a different period. Customs, remote locations, specialist packing requirements or the availability of suitable insured delivery may require a separate quotation or timetable before I accept your order.

Please contact me before returning an artwork so I can confirm the delivery service, packing method, customs documents and return reference. This helps ensure your return can be received safely and is adequately protected.
How artworks are packed
Suitable unstretched cotton canvas paintings are shipped rolled in a rigid protective tube or tube-style outer carton. Before rolling, I check that the paint is fully cured and that the surface and structure are suitable.
A compatible archival non-stick interleaf is placed against the painted surface. Depending on the artwork, this will normally be silicone-release paper or an inert release film, rather than ordinary tissue, wax paper or household paper.
The canvas is never folded. It is rolled paint-side outward, without tight pressure, around the widest practical padded core.
The roll is protected against dust and moisture, with no adhesive tape or plastic film touching the painted surface. It is secured inside the outer container to prevent sliding or crushing, with protective space at both ends. I keep condition and packing photographs for higher-value shipments.
Not every painting is suitable for rolling. Thick paint, raised texture, fragile collage, cracking, flaking, tacky paint and some glossy surfaces may be damaged under pressure. These works will be packed flat, crated or handled by a specialist. Any different packing method and cost will be explained on the product page or in your quotation.
Even archival release materials cannot eliminate the effects of pressure, heat or prolonged storage. I assess each artwork individually and may decline rolled shipment where there is a material risk of damage.
Unpacking a rolled canvas
Please keep all packaging until you have checked the artwork.
If the package arrives cold, hot or damp, bring it into a stable indoor room and allow it to acclimatise before opening. Acrylic paint is especially vulnerable when cold.
Open the package carefully on a clean, dry, spacious surface. Avoid cutting deeply into the tube or pulling the canvas out by an edge.
Unroll slowly, keeping the interleaf in place until the canvas can lie safely. Do not reverse-roll the canvas or place weights directly on the painted surface.
Arrange professional stretching or framing promptly. Rolled paintings are packed for transport, not long-term storage in a tube.
Delivery charges by destination
Greater London:
Standard delivery is included in the artwork price. Timed, urgent or specialist installation services may cost extra if agreed in advance.
Rest of UK mainland:
Delivery is charged at checkout where available, or quoted separately before your order is accepted.
Extended UK and nearby islands:
Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and Islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands and other remote areas are individually quoted.
Europe:
Delivery to EU and EEA countries, Switzerland and selected other European destinations is charged at checkout where available or individually quoted.
United States and Canada:
Delivery is charged at checkout where available, or quoted separately before your order is accepted.
Australia and New Zealand:
Delivery is individually quoted before your order is accepted.
Selected Asian destinations:
Delivery to Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan is individually quoted before your order is accepted.
A checkout delivery amount may need to be replaced by a bespoke quotation if the final packed size, artwork value, destination, insurance availability or packing requirements make the standard service unsuitable. I will obtain your agreement to any materially different delivery charge before accepting your order.
Estimated delivery times
These estimates run from order confirmation to the first delivery attempt and include normal preparation and transit. Working days exclude weekends and public holidays in the UK and, where relevant, the destination country.
Greater London: 3–7 working days, using local tracked or dedicated delivery.
Rest of UK mainland: 4–9 working days, normally allowing 3–7 working days for preparation and 1–2 working days in transit.
Extended UK and nearby islands: 5–12 working days. Remote locations and ferry schedules may add time.
Europe: 7–17 working days, normally allowing 3–7 working days for preparation and around 2–7 working days in transit. Customs may add time.
United States and Canada: 7–17 working days, normally allowing 3–7 working days for preparation and around 2–7 working days in transit. Customs may add time.
Australia and New Zealand: 8–20 working days, normally allowing 3–7 working days for preparation and around 3–10 working days in transit. Customs may add time.
Selected Asian destinations: 8–20 working days, normally allowing 3–7 working days for preparation and around 3–10 working days in transit. Customs may add time.
Specialist, flat-packed or crated shipments: usually 10–30 working days. Your order confirmation will state the agreed estimate. Complex export or specialist handling may require a different agreed period.
Where delivery will take longer than 30 calendar days after order acceptance, we will agree that period separately.
If I become aware of a significant delay, I will contact you promptly. These terms do not remove any legal right you may have to set a further reasonable deadline, cancel or receive a refund.
Carriers, tracking and delivery
I select the carrier according to the packed dimensions, destination, artwork value, tracking, signature requirements and available loss or damage cover. Some ordinary parcel services exclude original art or provide limited cover.
Tracking or delivery updates will be sent where the chosen service provides them.
A signature, identification check or named recipient may be required. Please provide a secure delivery address and an accurate telephone number.
I will not arrange for an original artwork to be left unattended or in a nominated safe place unless the specific insured service permits this and we have agreed it in writing.
If nobody is available to receive the artwork, please follow the carrier’s instructions promptly. Where the law permits, you may be responsible for re-delivery, storage or return-to-sender charges resulting from an incorrect address or missed delivery.
International customs, taxes and documents
For delivery outside the United Kingdom, you are responsible for destination-country import duties, taxes, brokerage, clearance charges and local handling fees unless I expressly state that these are included.
These charges are separate from my delivery charge and are set by the destination authorities and carrier.
I will describe the artwork accurately and declare its genuine sale value. I cannot mark a purchase as a gift or understate its value.
Please provide any identification, tax number or clearance information reasonably requested by the carrier or authorities.
If you return an artwork from outside the UK, please use the return wording and customs documents I provide so it is not treated as a new import. Where the law permits, avoidable charges caused by not following these instructions may be deducted from your refund.
Excluded destinations
As at 3 September 2026, I do not accept orders for delivery to the following destinations because of sanctions screening, conflict, carrier restrictions, insurance limitations or the absence of a suitable secure service:
Afghanistan, Belarus, Cuba, Iran, Libya, Myanmar, North Korea, Russia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine and Yemen; Crimea; and the non-government-controlled areas of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.
I also cannot deliver to any destination where a suitable lawful, tracked and adequately covered service is unavailable.
This is my business and service-availability list. It does not mean that every transaction with every person in each listed country is unlawful.
I screen orders and may decline or cancel an order where the buyer, recipient, bank, carrier, route or transaction is restricted or cannot be served safely. The list may change before an order is accepted.
Cancellation and change-of-mind returns
For ready-made original artworks purchased online, I offer a 14-day cancellation period in all delivery zones.
You must tell me that you wish to cancel within 14 days after you, or someone you nominate other than the carrier, receives the artwork. You must then send it back within 14 days of telling me, unless I agree to collect it.
For a change-of-mind return, you are responsible for the direct return cost. Please use a suitable tracked service with loss and damage cover appropriate to the artwork’s value, and follow my packing and customs instructions.
Keep and reuse the original specialist packaging if it remains suitable. If you ask me to arrange collection, I may deduct the actual agreed collection cost from your refund where the law permits.
Estimated return costs
The following estimates are for one artwork. They are provided because rolled, flat-packed or crated artworks may not be suitable for an ordinary postal service.
Greater London: £25–£90 for a suitable rolled canvas in a tube; £90–£300 for a flat-packed, crated, high-value or specialist return.
Rest of UK mainland: £25–£120 for a suitable rolled canvas in a tube; £100–£500 for a flat-packed, crated, high-value or specialist return.
Extended UK and nearby islands: £40–£160 for a suitable rolled canvas in a tube; £150–£650 for a flat-packed, crated, high-value or specialist return.
Europe: £75–£300 for a suitable rolled canvas in a tube; £300–£1,200 or more for a flat-packed, crated, high-value or specialist return.
United States and Canada: £100–£400 for a suitable rolled canvas in a tube; £450–£1,600 or more for a flat-packed, crated, high-value or specialist return.
Australia and New Zealand: £150–£500 for a suitable rolled canvas in a tube; £650–£2,000 or more for a flat-packed, crated, high-value or specialist return.
Selected Asian destinations: £130–£450 for a suitable rolled canvas in a tube; £550–£1,800 or more for a flat-packed, crated, high-value or specialist return.
These estimates include a broad allowance for tracking and appropriate cover. They exclude new specialist packaging, import charges, storage, remote-area surcharges and avoidable customs costs.
The actual cost may be lower or higher depending on packed dimensions, chargeable weight, declared value, carrier acceptance, collection area, destination and exchange rates.
You can ask for an artwork-specific indicative return estimate before ordering. Following cancellation, I will provide or approve a current quotation before the artwork is sent.
If an artwork is faulty, damaged on delivery, not as described, or I otherwise have a legal duty to cover return costs, I will arrange or reimburse a reasonable suitable return. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Damage, loss and delivery problems
Where practical, inspect the outer package before accepting it. Photograph any punctures, crushing, water marks or opened seals, followed by the packaging and artwork as you unpack.
Contact info@anastasijasarajeva.com as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours, and keep all packaging while the carrier or insurer reviews the matter.
The 48-hour request helps preserve evidence for the courier. It does not shorten or remove your rights if an artwork is damaged, faulty or not as described.
Please do not arrange repairs or discard the packaging before I respond, unless an urgent safety issue requires it.
